Today we’re going to show you how to setup your POP email account in Outlook. This guide will be consistent with Outlook 2010, 2013, and 2016.
Click Start and then Control Panel
In the Search box type ‘Mail’ Then Click on Mail (could also read Mail 32)
Click Show Profiles
Then Click Add…
Give it a cool name and click OK
Click “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” Then click Next
Select POP or IMAP and click next
Enter the user information
Under Server Information. The Incoming and Outgoing mail server settings were provided to you by Metisentry and will go here.
The user name is the full email address
Be sure to check “Require logon using secure password authentication” And uncheck “Test Account Settings”
Here is an example:
Click More Settings
Click Outgoing Server tab and check “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” Use same settings as incoming mail server
Click the Advanced tab and place a check in the box that says “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL). Change the outgoing server (SMTP) to 465. where it says “Use the following type of encrypted connection:” Change it to SSL.
At the bottom, change “Remove from server after 14 Days” to 4 days.
Click OK Then click Next, and then Finish
Then click Always use this profile and use the drop down box to select your new account. Click OK.
Congratulations! Your outlook profile is now complete!
