7th Annual Food Drive

hff-logoTeam Metisentry is conducting a food drive from Monday, November 7, 2016 through Friday, November 18, 2016. This is our seventh annual food drive held to support the local Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. Just a five-minute drive from our offices, the foodbank feeds approximately 263,200 people every year throughout eight counties in Northeast Ohio.

We take pride in our community. Metisentry is always looking for ways to promote team building and community involvement. As a registered 2016 Hunger Hero, we get to do just that while helping those in need.

Last year, we set out to collect 30 pounds of food. We exceeded that goal, collecting 46 pounds of food. Our total pounds of food collected over the years is just over 120 pounds. Our 2016 collection goal is 50 pounds. We’re reaching for that 200 pounds total mark!

A donation box is set up in our office. We invite other Nantucket Building businesses and Historic Arts District members to join our efforts. Great organizations like the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank cannot succeed in their mission of empowering people to experience healthy and hunger-free lives without the help of community members like ourselves.

In addition to the ‘Super Six’ most needed items requested by the foodbank, other greatly needed items include:

  • Dried Pasta, Rice and Beans
  • Condiments and Dressings
  • Cleaning Supplies (laundry supplies, household cleaners)
  • Paper Products (paper towels, facial tissue, bathroom tissue)
  • Personal Care Items (deodorant, shampoo, bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair care products)

Wondering what you can do to help? There are so many ways to get involved. Visit the Hunger-Free Families Holiday page to see how you can become a Hunger Hero this holiday season.

UPDATE: Our 2016 office food drive has ended, and the results are in! We exceeded our goal and have collected over 200 pounds of food to date. Click here for details on our final 2016 results!
